This webinar will explore how Pakistan can tackle the foundational learning crisis and ensure that all children acquire essential literacy and numeracy skills. Drawing on evidence from Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) implementation across urban and rural Sindh, including Karachi West and Umerkot, the session will examine how this evidence-based approach is improving learning outcomes by grouping children according to their learning levels rather than age or grade. The webinar will highlight lessons from implementation in diverse contexts, the role of teacher training, mentoring, monitoring, and government ownership in sustaining impact, and how Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi (ITA) is supporting the integration of TaRL within government education systems. Bringing together policymakers, researchers, and education practitioners, the discussion will consider practical strategies for scaling foundational learning interventions and embedding evidence-based approaches within provincial education systems to achieve equitable and sustainable improvements in learning outcomes across Pakistan.
